W8JK/WOW
Special Event Operation
2007

August 15, 2007 was the 30th anniversary of the reception of the "WOW Signal" by the "Big Ear" radio telescope designed and built by Dr. Kraus. This famous signal matched all of the requirements to have originated from an extraterrestrial source.
Club members activated the special event callsign W8JK/WOW to commemorate the anniversary of the reception of the WOW Signal. Operations started August 15, 2007, and extended through the end of the Ohio QSO Party (OQP) on August 26, 2007.

Operations were a bit sporadic and were controlled by the availability of the various club members involved. All total we made a total of about 600 QSOs.
